Yesterday Joseph Salerno, PhD; professor of Economics, Pace University was a guest on C-SPAN's "Washington Journal". He explains the history of the Gold Standard and gives analysis on the current status of the U.S. economy.
Dr. Salerno also focused on the pivotal year 1968 when the Gold Standard was repealed, He explains how this has created a unique post-war context for the future of the Gold Standard in the U.S. economy. Astonishingly Dr. Salerno reveals the fact that there is no gold in Ft. Knox, that the Bretton-Woods agreement was brokered by now-known Soviet agents, and openly states that the U.S. government seized gold from the citizens of the United States in the 1930's to fund of the U.S. government's liabilites to the privately owned "Federal" Reserve System.
